Messages from under the rock
Will I never just go away? *g* Behind, apologies, same old. Just a few things before I attempt to catch up again:

Dreamwidth. What? Not again.

Someone posted in [info]sv_inquiry looking for a fic of mine. No one responded. Just the resounding silence of "Dude, I have no clue and don't care." Ha! How's that for humbling, Ms. Rom? You're forgotten! Heeee.

Ended up in the emergency room at the lovely hour of 3:30 a.m. a bit ago from *stress*. I need to calm down. *g*

I have not seen Star Trek, watched television, or done anything much. But Rom, how will we talk to you? you say. I don't know, but it's kind of damp beneath this rock that I live under now. Plus there are bugs. Hopefully, the rest of you are enjoying sunshiny spring.

I'm so glad you've peeked out! I admit I spend much more time on facebook giving 300 character updates than I do here giving the in depth play-by-play nowadays. But I do miss my LJ friends. Counting the minutes to Writercon, hope you'll be there this year! We all need to just let our hair down for a few days!!

I'm still underneath my rock, unfortunately. I have an FB account too but I update it so infrequently - plus it confuses me!

I'd *love* to go to Writercon this year, but I don't think I can manage it. *is sad* If you go, I hope you'll have a great time!

Raining real rain? Alas, I only have metaphoric rain. Real rain would be nice since we have a drought in my part of sunshiny California. Yikes!

I want to see Star Trek! Mr. Romany went opening weekend because a friend of his called with a last-minute extra ticket. I pouted! But I got over it. *g*

Tea? Yes, please, thank you.

Does sound like I was fishing, doesn't it? Hee! No, this is good, keeps me humble. LOOK ON MY WORKS, YE MIGHTY...*crickets* Whee!

They were great to me in the ER, got star treatment and everything. I think I could have even asked for a latte. *g* I snuck out before they realized they had me confused with someone else. Not quite, they said I was fine so I took a taxi home.

Heh. Fic searches always make me laugh. Most of the time I coudn't* recognise a description of my own fics let alone someone else's. Most of the time my reaction to long, rambling plot descrptions is "Never read it and hopefully never will." ;-)

Edit: changed 'didn't' to 'couldn't' because I've never recognised any fic from a fic search description.

Edit 2: and I'm pretty sure someone else is two words...

*cough* Extremely late in responding. Apparently, I have become a glacier and I now count time in eons. My apologies.

Ah yes, fic searches are the first cousins once-removed of the vague song requests that plague DJs the world over. "You know, the one by that guy? I think there's a line about steak knives. I love that song!" But this fic search had been fairly specific. So, yay!, *someone* remembered it rather well, if only the requester. *g*

Aww, you're not forgotten! Some of us just suck at these fic searches. I mean, people have asked me about fics, giving me the summary and sometimes they're MINE and I still take a long time to figure it out. Oddly enough, I was just thinking about you the other day (and I hope that didn't sound totally creepy).

I'm sorry you're stressed and I hope it eases soon. *hugs*

*hugs* Still stressed, but I'll survive. *crosses fingers*

True, sometimes fic searches can be incredibly vague: "So yeah, Clark gets in his truck and drives. Chloe goes looking for him, or maybe it was Lex. No, no, it was Pete! And there's a dog - which has nothing to do with the truck - and this fic moved me so much. I think it might be old, if that helps." Or something like that. *g*

No, nothing creepy! Thank you for thinking of me.

Hi hello, nice to see your face on teh flist :) Sorry to hear you're having such a stressy time with everything. I'm lucky to be finally winding down from my stress after doing some serious cutting of the work assignements. I feel better already, and that's even with buying a house and renovating it. *hugs gently* Hope things improves for you.

The fic search - fandom is fickle, with short memory?

Star Trek hasn't reached my corner of the world yet. And today there IS sun under my rock actually. It's been raining a lot and my new rockhouse is full of dust and contractors so I'm living with parents from tonight till I have a working toilet again.

And Dreamwidth is of the win! in my opinion \0/ I love it already in beta, what it plans to become and it allows me to crosspost to LJ easily and keep in touch with my LJ flist. Let me know if you want to have a look at it aka an invite. Most people seems to already have invites on my flist so I have a few left. I can save you one for when you have time again, or you know energy to spare to even give a damn about such a thing.

♥ Take care and we'll see you when we do.

A house? Wow! Congratulations! I am so behind, but I am happy for you.

Fandom is indeed fickle with memory issues (except when it comes to wank - that follows you *forever*) : [

I hope the dust has settled for you a bit. At least enough for a working toilet.

Dreamwidth, I don't know. I'm still burned out from the last fandom move when I set up house on IJ and JF and only a few people were there. Lots of people had fists of rage, but they didn't *go* anywhere. So now I have *three* fandom-type accounts on different services and two are permanent. But maybe this is different. I don't know. I haven't been around enough to tell.

Go you with the house! *cheers*

Hey there!

It goes from sunny to rainy here, currently rainy. Have a cup of tea with me. Or coffee -- my icon can argue with your default icon which is better.

I confess I had the same reaction to the murmurs of Dreamwidth. :)

I haven't seen Star Trek either. Maybe this weekend? Depends on the babysitter. *crosses fingers*

Hi! We can have one of each. *g* I am drinking tea at this very moment though. I just lack the icon.

Yes, has there been a mad rush to Dreamwidth? I'm just too tired to go. *slump*

Have you seen Star Trek yet? I'm worried that I'm going to get myself *too* hyped up for it.

Your fics, forgotten? NEVAR! They're deeply embedded in the consciousness of fandom, I wager.

Thank you. In my hubris, I'd like to think I'm fandomly indelible. But not so! Not so. *g*
